We had a whirlwind of a weekend over here! I spent Friday night wrapping baby gifts and preparing for a family birthday celebration for my daughter-in-law which entailed a trip to Costco and stitching up all of those unmatched napkins I was determined to have ready Saturday night! Ricky was his patient usual self, never questioning why I have to have THOSE napkins by Saturday night, instead of using napkins I already have, and that I was willing to miss an opportunity to sit in the blue chairs and relax to have them!
Saturday morning the Haun girls headed over to the most beautiful group of women to celebrate this long anticipated life that will be joining us next month! Such a sweet, rich time! My daughter-in-law, Cheryl, the mother-to-be showed up in the cutest vintage maternity jacket that her mother wore in the 50’s!! Adorable!
Those sweet hostesses had everybody bring a letter of the alphabet with a blessing written on the back to decorate the nursery and it turned out Pinterest-worthy! So much thought and preperation went into it!
It was obvious that a lot of thought and prayer had gone into planning this blessed day! When we arrived we were encouraged to answer a few questions and both grandmothers read them aloud later! So honoring to us as grandmothers and such sweet sentiments were shared!
A time of blessing ended the morning, powerful prayers of intercession for the coming birth, prayers of affirmation for this sweet life and the destiny that this baby boy’s life holds!
We headed home and started getting things ready to celebrate once again!
Casey wanted to prepare his wife’s birthday dinner and I didn’t argue with that! It was amazing!
The day was made even more amazing as a dear friend of Cheryl’s, Paige and her husband Sean, missionaries from India, were in town to celebrate the day with all of us!
After dinner and dessert, the gifts!
All of the grandkids were also present, they pretty much tended to themselves. I served them a little tray of goodies while they lounged in the hot tub, after they got out they wandered in and out, you know, listening to adult conversation, putting my napkins on their head…stuff like that…
Or occasionally they would need help getting to a new level on their game…
Wow! This turned out to be quite lengthy…I think I’ll just leave Sunday for another time…just kidding…it was just a regular Sunday…
