I am linking up today with Debi at Above and Beyond. She has a series called Take Care Tuesday and I would love to share things that I have learned in my years of caring for my family, my home, my husband and myself that have helped me to find balance and peace.
You may wonder what in the world that has to do with taking care of yourself…but I’m telling you…so many times I would be all strung out, and couldn’t put my finger on what was out of kilter, to realize that I didn’t have a meal plan for the week. Give meal planning a try for a month or two and see if it doesn’t make a HUGE difference in the tension in your shoulders! You know what I’m talking about!
There are lots of ways to do it. Some people look at the ads and form a menu from that. I used to start with a loose plan…for instance, chicken on Monday, beef on Tuesday, meatless on Wednesday, etc. Or you could do Italian on Monday, Mexican on Tuesday, Chinese on Wednesday, etc. Even work in your meals that you’ll eat out, or when you might have someone for dinner. I always planned something fun like pizza, or tacos for Friday night.
Recently The Nester posted her menu plan and I loved it! Simple and totally doable! Check it out! You can also find menu plans that you can subscribe to that are delivered to your inbox once a week with grocery list! I’ve tried those once or twice but I am never happy with it. All families have their favorites foods and those definitely need to be a part of your plan!
I hope you are convinced to give it a try! And if you used to do it and have quit, I hope you are encouraged to do it again! I think you will be surprised how much easier your week will flow!
Do you have a system that you use to plan your mealtimes? I would love to hear about it!
